Class of 2009 05/08/2008
As we approach the 2008 - 2009 school year, many parents who have young men and ladies graduating next year, may be feeling a little nostalgic, or at least I am. My son will be preparing for his next journey in life, college. As I look back on how fast the years have gone, I begin to wonder did I instill into his life all the necessary tools needed to begin this quest. To persevere, when all you want to do is quit. Excellence, even though it seems that everything around you is mediocre. Goodness, when evil is ever present. Longsuffering, though we live in a society that is intolerant of others. Above all LOVE, when others destest your very existence. Then I look at the fine young man that he has turned out to be, and say to myself, ABSOLUTELY!!! Yes, parents it is hard to let go, but if they were raised to do all that is good, decent and productive, your job is done, and those virtues will not wane. CommentsLeave a Reply |
